QCIF welcomes Pat Loria as new Manager of Skills Development

21 August 2024

QCIF is pleased to announce that Pat Loria has joined the team as the new Manager of Skills Development.

Pat brings a wealth of experience, previously serving as the Associate Director of Library Academic and Research Services at Western Sydney University and is well-equipped to drive QCIF’s skills development initiatives forward.

In this role, Pat will be managing the QCIF Skills & Development portfolio, where he will lead a team of training instructors and assistants. He will be responsible for coordinating the production and implementation of digital skills training and support activities for the staff and research students of QCIF’s member institutions. Pat’s expertise in creating and delivering strategies that enhance client participation, success, and influence, alongside his extensive experience in strategic planning, makes him a key addition to the QCIF team.

"I decided to come to QCIF as I feel that with my background and skills, I can help to support our analysts and trainers by raising their profiles with executive staff in our member institutions, and to ensure that our services are firmly embedded in member institution research lifecycles," Pat shared.

Pat’s role will also involve actively seeking opportunities to expand the range of training services provided by QCIF. He will work in close consultation with the broader QCIF Executive to ensure that outcomes complement projects in other areas of the organisation, ensuring QCIF’s skills development programs are aligned to QCIF’s cutting-edge digital research infrastructure offerings.
