QCIF brings Keypoint to AMSI Winter School 2024

QCIF will once again sponsor The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) Winter School, a prominent conference in mathematical sciences. The event, targeted at postgraduate students, early-career researchers, and industry professionals, is scheduled to be held at The University of Queensland (UQ) from June 24 to July 5.

As part of our sponsorship arrangements, Peter Merendy, Head of Data Science, will deliver a presentation on Keypoint, QCIF’s new eResearch platform for sensitive data on Monday 24 June.

This year’s main theme of the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)-hosted event is “Mathematics for Decision-Making under uncertainty”.

QCIF Engagement & Outreach Manager Macarena Rojas said QCIF was looking forward to supporting the Winter School at UQ for a second time. “We are particularly excited about this year’s topic, as it aligns with QCIF’s expertise in data science, statistics, and optimisation. We are also looking forward to showcasing our training courses, which are focused on upskilling students on the most in-demand topics, including programming, statistics, data management and statistics.”

Keynote speakers include Distinguished Professor Kerrie Mengersen (Queensland University of Technology and Centre for Data Science), Professor Hanna Kurniawati (The Australian National University), Professor Phillip Yam (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), and Dr Nan Ye (The University of Queensland), amongst others.
